"Garbanotas Bosistas" releases a new album "Room for You"
"Room for
You" - it's the name of the just released album of "Garbanotas
Bosistas". All the songs from the album will be performed live in Vilnius,
LOFTAS at the album release concert on December 14th.
"Chaotic and
harmonious, happening, composite and beautiful to me (here - as an
adjective)", - Šarukas Joneikis, the vocalist of the band describes an
album consisting of nine songs.
"We recorded nine
songs, and quite a lot of time was needed to merge them in a single story. Some
melodies or texts have been lying in the drawer for almost 5 years. It seems
you just don't have enough courage to take them out to the light. Then you just
wait for your days and nights to arrange themselves in some way when those
songs or texts become necessary so you could live through times" - tells
the band's guitar player Mantas Joneikis.
Today you can already
find all nine songs of Garbanotas Bosistas in music streaming platforms:
spotify, itunes, deezer, bandcamp. Album was recorded and produced at
"Ymir Audio" studio in Vilnius and released together with independent
music agency "Tilto namai". At the concert and later on you could
also get a fresh physical copy of "Room for You" as a vinyl (order
[email protected]).
"We decided to
make a vinyl firstly because of the big cover, secondly because of the ritual
of how you listen to the music and then finally because of the sound. And if there
was a digital blackout in the world like in the movie "Bladerunner
2049" we could still listen to it." - says Mantas.
The band already
released three singles with videos made by themselves or some close friends of
theirs. "Last Summer's Day" by director Martynas Valius, "Should
Your Name Be Love" by direcor Jokūbas Lapinskas and the video for the
single "Long Ago Far Away" was made by the band themselves.
“Garbanotas Bosistas” plans to make a video for every song of the album.
Flagmen of Lithuanian
psychedelic rock (whatever that means) - Šarukas Joneikis, Mantas Joneikis,
Kipras Pugačiukas ir Mantas Augustaitis will present the new album in a week,
December 14th in LOFTAS. It will be possible to buy the LP in the venue too and
though the limited edition ivory white vinyls were sold out in three days, band
members promises that there will be enough black ones for everyone.
