The astronomical fall will begin late Friday night, and meteorologists also inform that a lengthy period of dry weather is to start this weekend when temperatures may increase to plus 20 degrees Celsius, informs LETA.

Rains are in the forecast for Thursday and Friday in most of Latvia, and in Kurzeme province rains are also possible on Saturday. But overall, dry and sunny weather is forecast for the weekend, with temperatures rising as high as 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Dry weather is expected next week in Latvia, with a chance of brief showers in some regions. Temperatures will be gradually decreasing next week, but maximum temps will be 15 to 20 degrees centigrade up until Wednesday or Thursday.

In the meantime, the September equinox will mark the start of the astronomical fall at 11:02 p.m. on Friday.
