In an exhibition match in Riga on Saturday in preparation for the upcoming European Men's Basketball Championships, the Latvian national men's basketball team defeated Lithuania 87:77, informs LETA.

Davis Bertans led the way for Latvia with 18 points, followed by Kristaps Porzingis with 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Janis Timma with 13 points, six assists and three steals.

Lukas Lekavicius led the way for Lithuania with 16 points.

In a next match yesterday, the Latvian national men's basketball team defeated Romania 98:68.

Davis Bertans and Janis Timma led the way for Latvia with 14 points a piece, followed by Martins Meiers with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Latvia will play its final exhibition match ahead of EuroBasket against the Czech Republic on August 24 in Riga.

EuroBasket 2017 will take place from August 31 to September 17 in four cities - Istanbul (Turkey), Helsinki (Finland), Tel Aviv (Israel) and Cluj Napoca (Romania).

Latvia will play in Group D in Istanbul against the hosts, Serbia, Russia, Belgium and Great Britain.

Latvia will open the tournament on September 1 against Serbia.

The top four teams in the group will advance to the tournament's knock-out phase.
