After deciding not to compete in any tournaments last week after her French Open victory earlier this month, Latvia's top ranked lady tennis player Alona Ostapenko fell one spot in the WTA rankings to 14th, reports LETA/BNS.

After her French Open victory, Ostapenko shot up the rankings to 12th place from her previous ranking of 47th.

Meanwhile, Latvia's second-best ranked lady tennis player Anastasija Sevastova, despite triumphing in the Mallorca Open this past weekend and earning 280 WTA rankings points, has stayed put in the rankings at 19th position.

The only other Latvian ranked in the top 500 in the world is Diana Marcinkevica - 323rd.
