More than 80 musical and other events are expected to take place at the Dzintari Concert Hall in Latvia’s seaside resort Jurmala during the new season, beginning on June 2 and ending on September 10, the concert hall’s director Gunars Kirsis said at a news conference today, ciing LETA.

The artists scheduled to perform at the Dzintari Concert Hall during the new season include world-famous classical conductor Riccardo Muti, Latvian opera singer Elina Garanca, the London Community Gospel Choir and British band Smokie, among many others.

The season at the Dzintari Concert Hall will end on September 10 with a concert featuring Latvian composer Imants Kalnins and Autobuss Debesis band, as well as Sinfonietta Riga chamber orchestra.

The concert hall in Jurmala has obtained a new Steinway & Sons piano, which has been made in Hamburg and cost EUR 140,000. Composer and pianist Raimonds Pauls said the new grand piano will provide new repertoire opportunities to the artists performing at the concert hall.
