In late January and early February, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) will start a concert trip to France to launch its international program for Latvia’s centenary, Linda Pastare from Latvia Centenary Bureau told LETA.

Among other concerts, LNSO will participate in French music festival in Nantes with nine concerts. In seven on the concerts LNSO will perform Latvian music, including Emils Darzins’ Melanholiskais Valsis (Melancholic Waltz), and Arturs Maskats’ Tango. LNSO will also be joined by the Latvian national academic choir Latvija.

The international program for Latvia’s centenary includes 112 events in 16 countries, including Poland, Lithuania, France, Sweden, Finland, the UK, the US and others.
