For the first time ever, the Swedish Embassy in Latvia invites for a “Santa Lucia” concert in Daugavpils

The concert “Santa Lucia” will take place in Sv. Dievmates Marijas Church, Daugavpils

A choir from Stockholm Sankta Eugenia Cathedral Vocal Ensemble, famous singer Inese Galante, organist Aivars Kalejs and young Latvian talents Sandra Seržāne and Iļja Talatins will perform during the concert. The concert takes place on December 10 at 15.30, and everyone is warmly welcome. Free entrance.

During the same day, the ambassador of Sweden, Mr. Henrik Landerholm will open the exhibition “AccessAbility” in Daugavpils Saules skola at 12.00 and in Daugavpils Marko Rotko centre at 13.00.  This exhibition can be summed up in one word – dignity. To live with dignity, regardless of disability, is a human right according to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Later at night, starting at 19.00, the people of Daugavpils will be invited to a Swedish movie night at the Silver Screen cinema. Free entrance.

On December 11 at 16.00, “Santa Lucia” concert  will be presented in Riga Dome Cathedral.
Entrance by invitations or tickets are available at Riga Dome Cathedral book office.

In addition, a “Santa Lucia” concert where students from Daugavpils University will perform, will be arranged in Ludza on December 13 within the Swedish Days in Ludza.
