Number of Latvian residents living below the poverty line drops to 2.37%

Print versionThe proportion of residents living below the poverty line has dropped slightly and was at 2.37% in June, according to the Welfare Ministry's data.
In May, the proportion was 2.41%, in March it was 2.61%, in January 2.6%, and in August of last year it was` at 2.65%.
In June, 46,401 residents were registered as living below the poverty line.
According to the Central Statistical Bureau's data used by the Welfare Ministry for its calculations, the number of residents below the poverty line in June decreased by 1,100 from May.
