Established in 1998, the Riga Opera Festival has become a treasured tradition – eagerly awaited by opera devotees in Latvia and abroad. The purpose of the festival is to showcase the season's new productions and the best from previous seasons. Indeed one can enjoy a large-format vocal-instrumental work, hail our own superb stars and famous singers from foreign countries.

In 2016, the spotlight will be on one composer:the unabashed Italian romantic Giuseppe Verdi.
