The infantry platoon set up on the basis of the Alutaguse regional unit of Kaitseliit will from June 2 take part in the Landovelse 2016 exercise organized by the national guard of Denmark, where supporting the police in law enforcement will be rehearsed, spokespeople for the Kaitseliit said.

The exercise will focus mainly on guarding and close observation in civilian areas in peace-time.

The Estonian platoon will take part in pre-exercise training on June 2 and 3. The exercise itself will be held in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula on June 4.

The exercise will conclude with a parade in Fredericia on June 5 that will be received by Queen Margrethe II.

In addition to the infantry platoon, staff officers and the commander of the Kaitseliit, Brig. Gen. Meelis Kiili, will participate in Landovelse 2016.
