Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis continues treatment at the Cardiac Surgical Ward of the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital, and is feeling better every day, the president's press service reported LETA.

The president continues the physiotherapy course and the prescribed medications.

Doctors last week concluded that Vejonis can be transferred out of the intensive care unit (ICU). He will continue treatment at the Cardiac Surgical Ward and will gradually return to his presidential duties.

On January 20 the Latvian president underwent emergency heart surgery at the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital. Medics eliminated the source of a sepsis infection in his heart, replacing one of the heart valves with an artificial one.
