The Admiral Pitka Recon Challenge takes place for the third year. The aim of the organizers is to create a unique military challenge that should measure the training level, weapons and supplies level and morale of the participants in circumstances as close as possible to real life.

For nearly 20 years, Erna Raid was the main international reconnaissance contest organised in Estonia. It was cancelled in 2011 since organisers, the Erna Society felt that Estonian teams had covered all possible tracks and that gave them an unfair advantage over foreign contestants.
