The NBA's New York ''Knicks'' have finalized a deal with the talented Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis, the team has informed, cites LETA.

The rookie first-round pay scale has Porzingis projected to make about USD 18.4 million across four years. The final two years are not guaranteed on rookie pacts. Porzingis would start at a projected USD 4 million a year as a rookie, according to U.S. media.

Porzingis was selected by the New York ''Knicks'' with the 4th pick in this year's NBA Draft.

Porzingis has become the third Latvian to be drafted by an NBA team, and has also become the highest NBA pick ever from Latvia.
