This year, the Medieval Days will be full of surprises, taking the guests on a journey into the gastronomy world to discover the unique and fascinating cuisine of the medieval times.

On both days, there will be cooking classes with master chefs, and everyone will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of cooking, dating 500 years back. Saturday's theme will be exploring medieval cuisine according to social hierarchy, but on Sunday the main theme will be the special features of the European cuisine.

While at the feast, people will have a chance to see the differences between the diet of lords and peasants, different manners and table culture. The most competent doctor in Livonia will give advice on best cures for overeating. The gardener of the castle's newly renovated kitchen garden will show visitors the most popular vegetables grown in medieval times, while the herb lady will reveal the healing power of the herbs that are grown in the garden.

In addition, people will have the opportunity to watch a traditional knight tournament, archery competition, listen to medieval music and storytellers, as well as participate in workshops and other activities for the whole family.
