BC, Tallinn, 30.06.2015.Print version

Rescue workers of Peru announced that they have managed to find the bodies of two out of three Estonians who went missing on the Tocllaraju Mountain in Peru on the first weekend of June 2015, writes LETA/National Broadcasting.

The Director of the Consular Services Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tiina Nirk confirmed that the Ministry had received information from the Director of the Peru Mountain Guides Association's Rescue Team that late in the evening of June 25, two bodies were discovered, and they are highly likely two of the three Estonian mountaineers who perished in Peru on the first weekend of June.

However, before confirming the fact that these two are the bodies of the Estonians who went missing while climbing the mountain in Peru, they have to be formally identified.

Three Estonian mountain climbers died in Peru – Tarmo Riga, his wife Jane, and Allan Valge. The fourth mountaineer Annemai Märtson survived, and has by now returned to Estonia.
