Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevicius and his wife Janina visited the Neonatology Centre of Vilnius University Hospital and together with representatives of the support fund of Lithuanian Apparel and Textile Industry Association (LATIA) participated in the charity and support campaign for premature babies, informs LETA/ELTA.

Butkevicius emphasised that children are a part of society which should aim to be harmonious and take care of its members. Together with representatives of the LATIA support fund the prime minister presented gifts.

The LATIA established a support fund in April 2014. In September-December the fund organises a support campaign Esame Kartu (We Are Together) which encourages apparel and textile manufacturers to provide their products in support of large families and the most socially vulnerable citizens. Prime Minister Butkevicius is the patron of the campaign.

The campaign seeks to nurture harmonious society and promote social responsibility among Lithuanian apparel and textile companies as well as the general business community.
