For the first time in the club's history, the "Liepaja"/"Triobet" basketball club won the "Olybet" Baltic Basketball League (BBL) Cup, defeating Estonia's TU/"Rock" 74:61 (20:14, 20:22, 16:12, 18:13) in the final game on Sunday, informs LETA.

This is the second time in the history of the Baltic Basketball League that the trophy is won by a Latvian club.

Mareks Jurevicus, who scored 11 points for "Liepaja"/"Triobet" yesterday, was named the tournament's most valuable player.

In the third-place game on Sunday, "Ventspils" beat "Siauliai", last season's first-place finisher in the BBL.
