Latvia loses to Austria in Davis Cup 4-1

Latvia's Davis Cup team is another series away from being knocked out of the top group in the Europe-Africa Zone after losing to Austria, reports LETA.
The outcome was sealed in singles action as Mikelis Libietis bowed to the seasoned veteran Jurgen Melzer 2-6, 2-6, 4-6.
This gave the Austrians an insurmountable 3-1 advantage over the Latvians. Later, Janis Podzus lost to Martin Fischer to cap the score at 4-1.
Latvia will have just one more chance to retain its place in the top group – versus Sweden in October.
