Lithuania loses World Cup basketball semi-finals to USA

Lithuanian men's basketball team lost World Cup semi-finals in Spain against team USA 68-96 and will compete for bronze medals, informs LETA/ELTA.
Bad shooting, poor rebounding and turnovers cost dearly. Lithuania hit 15 of 38 two-point shots (39%) and just 2 of 18 three-pointers (11%). Lithuania grabbed 38 rebounds against 50 of the USA, and made 21 turnovers.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Jonas Valanciunas were the top scorers among Lithuanians both with 15 points, they also grabbed 9 and 7 rebounds respectively.
Kyrie Irving led team USA in scoring with 18 points.
Lithuania will now play with the loser of France-Serbia semi-final. The game for the bronze medals is on Saturday at 7 p.m. Lithuania time.
