Riga International Film Festival (RIFF), taking place from December 2 to December 12, will showcase European films, informs LETA.

Sonora Broka, the director of the festival, said that RIFF will include more that 120 various films of several genres and themes for wide audiences.

The program consists of the latest Latvian and European films, as well as Nordic lensers for children and teenagers. This will be opportunity to see all the motion pictures nominated for the "European Film Awards" before the ceremony, which this year will be held in Riga. Also, it will be possible to meet the directors and actors of the nominated films. It has been revealed that the program will include movies by Mike Leigh and Jessica Hausner.

RIFF will also feature those nominated for "European Film Awards" from the mid 1990s up to now.

One of festival's guests of honor will be world renowned actress and director Liv Ullmann, who will present her new film "Miss Julie".
