Latvian national team forward Edgars Gauracs made his debut on Wednesday for Swiss football club ''Aarau'', during which he scored his club's winning goal, informs LETA.

Gauracs scored the winner against ''Sion'' in the 84th minute after coming on as a substitute in the 67th minute.

It is interesting to point out that Latvian national team goalie Andris Vanins plays for ''Sion'', but did not participate in the match due to a minor knee injury.

''Aarau'' is currently in third place in the Swiss top league with three points from two matches, while ''Sion'' is in eighth place with one point.

As reported, Gauracs has been loaned to Swiss top division football club ''Aarau'', his club Jurmala ''Spartaks'' informed last week.

The 26-year-old Gauracs has previously for such clubs as ''Ascoli'' (Italy), Bucharest ''Rapid'' (Romania), Moscow ''Torpedo'' (Russia), Krasnoyarsk ''Enisey'' (Russia) and Tiraspol ''Sheriff'' (Moldova).

Gauracs has also played 20 matches for the Latvian national team, scoring five goals.
