Prominent Lithuanian actor Donatas Banionis was transferred to nursing and supportive treatment department of the Mykolas Marcinkevicius Hospital, informs LETA/ELTA.

Banionis suffered clinical death but doctors managed to resuscitate him and start his heart again. Doctors say that the actor's condition is complicated, requires long treatment and care.

This year Banionis celebrated his 90th birthday and was awarded by the Ministry of Culture the honour badge Carry your Light and Believe. He was also awarded the National Prize for the continuation of the Juozas Miltinis Theatre tradition.
