Bruno Nopponen and Priit Vehm were the first men to swim from Finland to Estonia, writes Postimees.

Swimming coach Nopponen and TV cameraman Vehm were the only ones out of six swimmers who started the difficult distance from Finland early on Friday morning.

Nopponen who finished the distance first, after 19 hours and 13 minutes said that the most difficult challenge was not the physical effort, but his own way of thinking. The length of the route for Nopponen was 60 kilometres.

Both men stated that they did not think about quitting not once.

“We thought that the next attempt could be from Kihnu to Pärnu or from the Sõrve peninsula to Latvia,” said Nopponen, when commenting on the future plans.
