Winter festivity events begin in Vilnius

Winter festivity events started in Vilnius – two Christmas Trees are lit, ice skating rink is opened and a Christmas train is launched, informs LETA/ELTA.
The first Christmas Tree was lit in the Town Hall Square on Novermber 30th and in the evening the biggest Christmas Tree in Lithuania was lit in the Cathedral Square. As the Year of Dialects is closing, people will be greeted in all dialects of Lithuania.
International charity fair is open in the Town Hall Square on Saturday. Citizens of Vilnius and its visitors will be able to purchase souvenirs made by the officials of foreign embassies and the wives of ambassadors as well as Christmas dainties from foreign countries. 500 people from more than 40 embassies and non-profit organizations are expected to participate.
Ice skating rink was opened in the Town Hall Square on Saturday.
