Legendary Latvian rock musician Aivars Brize died yesterday at the age of 51, the nra.lv portal reports.

According to the portal, Brize was born in Liepaja on January 28, 1962, writes LETA.

Brize was a key member of several popular Latvian rock groups: "Neptuns", "Livi", "Legions".

Lyricist, producer and record label "Mikrofona ieraksti" repertory director Guntars Racs, who has closely collaborated with Brize, told LETA that Brize represented an entire generation in Latvian rock music. Racs said he was shocked to see the greatest Liepaja rock musicians departing so young, also mentioning Eriks Kigelis, Dainis Virga and Janis Grodums.

Brize was a leading member of the immensely-popular rock band "Livi", and he will be sorely missed, said Racs.
