Denmark is the happiest nation in the world, according to a survey carried out by the U.S. government-funded sociological research fund World Values Survey (WVS).

Puerto Rico ranks second, whereas Colombia is third. Other top ten countries include Iceland, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada and Australia, reports LETA.

At the bottom of the list, there are Zimbabwe, Armenia, Moldova, Albania, Belarus and Ukraine.

Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are also ranked among the "unhappy" states: they are, respectively, 84th, 85th and 86th in the ranking of 97 countries.
