Lithuania has declined Finland's invitation for trilateral consultations with Belarus on the almost-completed Astravyets nuclear power plant, informed LETA/BNS.

A part of Vilnius will be evacuated during a drill that the Lithuanian capital will hold on September 5 to simulate an accident at Belarus's Astravyets nuclear power plant, reported LETA/BNS.
In line with Lithuania's decision block access to its market for electricity from the Astravyets nuclear power plant under construction in neighboring Belarus, the Energy Ministry has drafted changes to the electricity trade rules and power import and export arrangements, reported LETA/BNS.
The European Parliament is recommended to approve 780 mln euros in funding for the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant's decommissioning in the EU's next multiannual financial framework, the amount sought by Lithuania and 230 mln euros more than proposed by the European Commission, informs LETA/BNS.
Lithuania's Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant has called a tender for the procurement of Near Surface Repository for Low and Intermediate Level Short-Lived Radioactive Waste (project B25) technical supervision and FIDIC engineer services as the nuclear facility is getting ready for the launch of a multimln tender for the repository construction in the fall, informed LETA/BNS.
The Latvian government supports the Lithuanian position to demand the highest security standards at the Astravyets nuclear power plant under construction in Belarus, however, does not consider any laws to restrict electricity imports from the utility, says LETA/BNS Latvia's Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics.
