The Prosecutor General's Office has renewed charges against Jurmala Mayor Gatis Truksnis (Greens/Farmers) for allegedly illegal financing to the Union of Greens and Farmers, LETA learned from the prosecutor's office.

The Prosecutor General's Office today has closed the criminal process against Jurmala Mayor Gatis Truksnis (Greens/Farmers) in the criminal case for allegedly illegal financing of Greens/Farmers party, Truksnis' lawyer Janis Rozenbergs confirmed LETA.
This summer season – from July to September – Latvia will be the venue of the widescale musical festival “Riga Jurmala”, within the framework of which concerts of the best orchestras and performers of classical music will be held. “Riga Jurmala” continues the traditions of the “Baltic Musical Seasons” festival, which took place with the ongoing involvement of Rietumu Bank.
According to latest Central Statistical Bureau's data, the number of tourists that visited the resort city of Jurmala last year was 17% higher than in 2017, as Jurmala City Council's representative Elita Cepurite told LETA.
The city council of Latvia’s seaside resort city Jurmala has passed the city’s 2019, with municipal revenue expected to grow 9.7 % year-on-year to EUR 88.8 mln this year, the local authority informed LETA.
The number of tourists visiting Latvia’s seaside resort city Jurmala this past summer grew by 23% against the same period a year ago, Zane Leite, a representative of the Jurmala City Council, told LETA citing data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).
