Latvia: Construction costs in November grew by 0.6%

Data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to October, in November 2019 the level of construction costs in Latvia rose by 0.6 %. Labour remuneration of workers increased by 2.7%, maintenance and operational costs of machinery and equipment – by 0.2%, but prices of building materials reduced by 0.2%.

Calendar adjusted data (at constant prices) compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to November 2018, in November 2019 total retail trade turnover rose by 1.7 %. Turnover of retail trade in food products grew by 1.1%. Turnover of retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) increased by 2.9%, turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – reduced by 0.6%.

The new rules proposed by the Commission in May 2018 were aimed at harmonizing minimum water quality requirements for the safe reuse of treated urban wastewaters in agricultural irrigation. Besides, European commitments of the Circular Economy Action Plan complement existing EU legal framework on water and foodstuffs and aimed at implementing the SDGs, in particular SDG-6 on water, sanitation, as well climate change mitigation.
