Provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau show that during the nine months of 2019, 14 130 births were registered, which is 550 children fewer than in the respective period of 2018. Decline in the birth number is observed for the fourth year in a row.

European leaders on Thursday endorsed a Brexit withdrawal agreement drawn up between London and the European Union, which will now go to the British parliament for ratification, informed LETA-AFP.
According to the preliminary data of Statistics Estonia, in October 2018, the gender pay gap was present in all economic activities. The pay gap was biggest in financial and insurance activities (32.2%) and smallest in transportation and storage (1.9%).

In 2018, 109.2 mln people, or 21.7% of the population, in the European Union (EU) were at risk of poverty or social exclusion. This means that they were in at least one of the following three conditions: at risk of poverty after social transfers (income poverty), severely materially deprived or living in households with very low work intensity.
The listed Estonian garment manufacturer and seller Baltika Group ended the third quarter of 2019 with a net loss of 1.2 mln euros, while the net loss for the same period last year was 814,000 euros, the loss for the first nine months of the year increased from 1.7 mln euros last year to 3.3 mln euros this year.
Kamida Group, a transportation, logistics and agricultural equipment rental service provider, is starting to develop a 15,800 square meter logistics center with a four-story administration complex close to the western bypass in Kaunas. The project, called WESTHUB, will cost 12 mln EUR. It is scheduled to be completed next year, the Kamida group representatives informed BC.
