In 2017, the Member States of the European Union (EU) spent all together almost €320 billion on Research & Development (R&D). The R&D intensity, i.e. R&D expenditure as a percentage of GDP, stood at 2.07% in 2017, compared with 2.04% in 2016. Ten years earlier (2007), R&D intensity was 1.77%., informed Eurostat.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in December 2018, the economic sentiment indicator stood at 4 and, against November, decreased by 1 percentage point. The retail trade confidence indicator decreased by 4, construction – 2, consumer and services – 1 percentage point. The industrial confidence indicator remained unchanged.

Last year 2,355 marriages were registered at the vital statistics office of the Estonian capital city Tallinn, while the oldest groom was 83 years old and the age of the oldest bride was 71 years, reported LETA/BNS.
