In October, industrial production output in Latvia fell by 2%

Data compiled by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to October 2016, in October 2017 industrial production output (1) increased by 5.4% (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices). Production output rise was recorded in manufacturing (of 5.9%), mining and quarrying (10.7%) and electricity and gas supply (3%). Compared to September 2017, in October 2017 industrial production output fell by 2%.

In early November 2017, Ansis Zeltinš, CEO of the Freeport of Riga, together with representatives of the sector, went on an official visit to India within the framework of the delegation headed by Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis in order to participate in a range of events related to the strengthening of business and international relations. At a transport and logistics conference in Mumbai, representatives presented the logistics sector of Latvia and its advantages in Eurasian transit corridors, as well as familiarised Indian entrepreneurs with the opportunities of using the Latvian transit corridor for delivering cargo to Northern Europe, reported BC port’s press service.
