In July, exports and imports in Lithuania increased by 11.4% and 15.4% y-o-y

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in July 2017 amounted to 2.03 billion, imports – EUR 2.33 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.15 billion. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 298 million.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in August 2017, against July, the calculated overall price change in consumer goods and services was close to zero, because an increase in prices for certain consumer goods and services was counterbalanced by a decrease in other consumer goods and services. This was mainly influenced by a decrease in prices for vegetables, clothing, footwear and pharmaceuticals, as well as an increase in prices for milk and milk products, cheese and eggs, cars, tobacco products, oil and fats (see Table 3).

The latest data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that during the year* (in August 2017, compared to August 2016) the average level of consumer prices increased by 3.1%. Prices of goods grew by 3.0% and prices of services by 3.2%.

Riga Airport raises turnover by 3% in H1

Riga International Airport turned over EUR 25.1 million in the first half of this year, which was a 3% increase against the same period in 2016, while the company’s profit made in the first six months of 2017 was EUR 799,000, the airport’s spokeswoman Laura Karnite told LETA.

Moody’s affirms rating of Elering at A2
