BC, Vilnius, 22.01.2020.Print version
Lithuania's state-owned energy group Epso-G has announced a competition for CEO of gas transmission company Amber Grid. The new CEO will replace its former board chairman and now acting CEO Nemunas Biknius, Epso-G's director for strategy and development, writes LETA/BNS.

"We want this company important for Lithuania to be led by a leader with good reputation and a broad view, capable of pooling and inspiring colleagues for ambitious goals set by the shareholder, promoting innovation and having experience and intuition to make decisions creating value not only for the company but also for the whole energy sectors' future," Rolandas Zukas, CEO of Epso-G, said.

Applications will be accepted until Feb 16, and Amber Grid's board is expected to pick the new CEO by the second half of April.

The selection process will involve Epso-G's Remuneration and Appointment Committee and the Lithuanian branch of international headhunting company Aims International, the statement reads.

Amber Grid's former CEO Saulius Bilys resigned in ate October after the company failed to sign the contract for the construction of the Lithuanian-Polish gas pipeline (GIPL) due to doubts over the tender's transparency.

The contract, valued at almost 80 mln euros, was eventually signed with Lithuanian company Alvora after it was declared the tender's winner for the second time following a review of the initial offers.
