Estonian tourism companies must be more flexible in tough times

Print versionEstonian tourism accommodations must be flexible to survive the economic downturn, and the relation between price and quality will have more importance this year, Tarmo Mutso, the Director of the Estonian Tourism Board told ERR News, as BBN/LETA reported.

"When talking about tourism as a whole, then 2009 will certainly be a year the keyword of which will be the relation between price and quality," Mutso said.
Smaller growth in tourism sphere is linked with gross domestic product.
"When the economy rises 2%, the tourism grows 3%, and when the economy falls 1%, the tourism narrows 2%," he explained.
Mutso said it is obvious the companies have to analyse the situation and find new niches.
