Yesterday the Enterprise Estonia opened the campaign “Quality Under Scrutiny”, aimed at increasing knowledge on the quality of tourism services and thereby contributing to increasing the satisfaction of consumers and the competitiveness of the tourism companies.

According to Tarmo Mutso, Director of the Tourist Board of Enterprise Estonia, in the toughening competition between Estonian tourism companies, the quality and diversity of the services offered are very important. “With the campaign, we wish to promote dialogue between consumers and providers, which would help improve services and thus increase the satisfaction of consumers,” Mutso said.

The surveys conducted by Enterprise Estonia, over the past few years, regarding domestic trips indicate that travellers are not satisfied with the relationship between the price and quality of services. One of the main reasons, according to Mutso, was miscommunication. “Often, a company does not know which quality is expected from their service, and does not understand why the client will not turn back to them,” he explained. “The better understanding by consumers of the expectations towards a service is also important”.

In the course of the awareness raising campaign, everyone is expected to share their thoughts and experiences on the quality of tourism services in a special web environment. The providers of tourism services are also provided lots of information on improving the quality of services, and companies are invited to join the Estonian Tourism Quality Programme organised by Enterprise Estonia. The goal is also to introduce the label of the quality programme, “People Committed to Quality,” in more detail.

The campaign is co-funded by the European Social Fund, ordered by the Tourist Board of Enterprise Estonia and implemented by Alfa-Omega Communications.
