Apartment prices in downtown Riga increase by 10.2% in Q2

In the second quarter of 2014, the fastest increase in apartment prices was registered in downtown Riga, where the average price per square meter grew by 10.2% as compared to the second quarter of 2013. In comparison with January-March 2014, the price has grown by 1.9%, as the latest real estate report by Latio indicates, cites Nozare.lv/LETA.

The average price of apartments in downtown Riga in the first quarter 2014 was EUR 2,700 per square meter.

 

In August, prices of new apartments remained the same, Latio indicates. In the second quarter of 2014, the average price for apartments in the Old Town of Riga was EUR 4,250 per square meter. Compared to the second quarter of 2013, the price has increased by 2.4%, whereas compared to the first quarter of 2014, the price remained the same.



 

In the second quarter of 2014, the average price for apartments in Riga neighborhoods was EUR 1,380 per square meter – 4.5% more than in the second quarter of 2013 and unchanged as compared to the first three months of 2014.

 

The range of prices at which apartments are sold is broad and depends on the location of the building. New apartments in the vicinity of Riga in August cost about EUR 700-900 per square meter, Riga neighborhoods – EUR 900-1,850 per square meter, downtown Riga – EUR 1,500-3,500 per square meter. Prices for exclusive apartments may reach EUR 4,000-6,000 per square meter.
