Apartment prices grow in Lithuania's cities in March

The Ober-Haus Lithuanian apartment price index (OHBI), which records the rates of change in apartment prices in five major Lithuanian cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys), grew by 0.8% in March, reports LETA/ELTA.

0.7% growth was recorded in February. Overall apartment prices in Lithuanian cities increased by 2.9%.

 

Growth of apartment prices was recorded in all Lithuanian cities for the second month in a row. Apartment prices in Vilnius grew by 1.2%, with the average price reaching LTL 4,320 (EUR 1,250) per square metre. Per year apartment prices in Vilnius increased by 5.1%. Meanwhile, the prices have increased by 8.4% since the lowest level recorded in May 2010.

 

In March, apartment prices in Siauliai, Panevezys, Klaipeda and Kaunas grew by 0.4, 0.4, 0.3 and 0.2% respectively.

 

In Siauliai the average price per square meter increased to LTL 1,932 (EUR 559), in Panevezys to LTL 1,806 (EUR 523), in Klaipeda to LTL 3,354 (EUR 971) and in Kaunas to LTL 3,222 (EUR 933).

 

Positive yearly change of apartment prices was recorded in Siauliai, Panevezys and Klaipeda by 2.4, 1.6 and 1.4% respectively. While in Kaunas the indicator decreased by 1%.
