Apartment prices in Lithuanian capital rise

BC, Vilnius, 08.08.2013.Print version
Assessing cumulated apartment prices in the largest cities of the country, they remain stable yet the trend suggests that apartment prices in Vilnius are going up, reported LETA/ELTA.

This price dynamics is revealed by the Lithuanian apartment price index (OHBI) of real estate company Ober-Haus that registers changes in apartment prices in the five major Lithuanian cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys).

In July 2013 the OHBI remained unchanged for the third month in a row. However, assessing the apartment market in Vilnius separately, steady increase in prices was observed.

In July a rise of 0.1 percent in apartment prices was registered and the average price per square metre increased by LTL 3 (EUR 0.87) to LTL 4,139 (EUR 1,199). Vilnius apartment prices edged up for the sixth month in a row.

In July, apartment prices in Klaipeda increased by 0.1 percent to 962 EUR/sqm, while prices in Kaunas, Siauliai and Panevezys remained the same as in June, respectively, 933 EUR/sqm, EUR 254, 515 EUR/sqm.
