Vilnius apartment prices edged up for the fifth month in a row, rising 0.1% to 1,198 EUR/sqm in June 2013, informs LETA/ELTA.

The overall value of the Ober-Haus Lithuanian apartment price index (OHBI) showing apartment prices in the five major Lithuanian cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys) remained unchanged in June 2013.

Meanwhile, the rate of annual decline has slowed to 0.9% from 1.7% recorded in the beginning of this year.

The prices of apartments in Vilnius went up by 1.1% during the first half of the year. This change was mostly influenced by increase in new construction apartment prices in the prestigious districts (2.3%) and in old construction apartment prices in residential districts (1.7%) of the Lithuanian capital.

In June the fall of 0.5% in prices was observed in Siauliai, while the average price per square metre in this city went down to EUR 254. The average price of apartments in Kaunas, Klaipeda and Panevezys remained the same as in May 2013, respectively, 933 EUR/sqm, 962 EUR/sqm, 515 EUR/sqm.
