Vilnius still has the highest housing prices among the three Baltic capitals, Lithuanian news portal Lrytas.lt reports today, based on estimates presented by the Ober-Haus property company.

On the other hand, the number of housing sale agreements in Lithuania is smaller than in Riga and Tallinn, writes LETA/ELTA.

Heating rates are the highest in Tallinn at the moment, and the lowest in Riga.

Housing prices in Vilnius have remained at approximately EUR 1200 per square meter for a year already. The prices in Tallinn increased, then fell, and now stand at slightly over EUR 1000 per square meter. In Riga, the prices have increased slightly over the past twelve months, and currently stand at slightly under EUR 1000 per square meter.

The number of housing sale agreements in Riga and Tallinn, calculated per 1,000 residents, increased last year, whereas in Vilnius it remained unchanged. For the first time in two years, Vilnius was behind the other two Baltic capitals in this respect.

In January, the cost of heating a pre-renovated apartment of 60 square meters in area was LVL 99 in Tallinn, LVL 80 in Vilnius and LVL 78.5 in Riga, on condition that average temperature was minus 3.7 degrees Celsius.

Ober-Haus experts believe that more new housing will be built in Vilnius this year than in the other two Baltic capitals together.
