In January of 2012, the Ober-Haus Lithuanian apartment price index, which records changes in apartment prices in the five main Lithuanian cities (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai, and Panevezys), remained unchained, Ober-Haus Real Estate Advisors said.

In December 2011, a decrease of 0.1% was recorded.

In January 2012, a 0.1% drop in apartment prices was recorded in Vilnius. Regardless of this overall, fairly insignificant decrease, changes in prices in the capital depended on the location of apartments: in residential districts, prices dropped 0.3%, while in prestigious districts and central part of the city prices grew 0.2-0.3%, writes LETA/ELTA.

No changes in prices were recorded in January in the other main Lithuanian cities.

Over the past 12 months, the growth in apartment prices in Vilnius was positive and equaled 1.0%. Changes in apartment prices in the other main cities remained negative and were 1.6% in Kaunas, 2.0% in Klaipeda, 3.7% in Siauliai, and 1.3% in Panevezys.
