Director of the Institute of Economic Research Marje Josing stated that there is no crash of the construction market in Estonia, but as the number of orders is falling, some enterprises will have to leave the market in near future.

Marje Josing.

She estimated that the situation on the Estonian real estate market is restoring with difficulties. “Some fields should be turned back to grasslands, now,” stated Josing, referring to real estate developments that have been blooming in the past few years, , writes Postimees Online/LETA.

According to the institute’s study, every third construction enterprise will face a falling work volume in the next three months and only 23% are hoping to increase their construction volumes. Low demand was a problem for 67% of companies in June, a year ago this concerned only 5%.

The confidence indicator in the construction sector has fallen significantly in the past two months. Josing estimated that this could be caused by the matters relating to the State budget.
