Number of real estate transactions in Estonia fell by 30% in Q2

The number of real estate transactions carried out in the second quarter of 2009 in Estonia is by nearly 30% lower than during the same period of time last year, writes EPL Online/LETA.

At the same time, the number of real estate transactions executed in the second quarter was by 771 higher than in the first quarter, amounting to 9,831.

 

The monetary value of the real estate transactions carried out amounted to 5.311 billion kroons whereas in the first quarter, this amount was 5.672 billion kroons – i.e. by 6% bigger.

 

During the second quarter of 2008, a total of 14,042 transactions were carried out and the total monetary worth of the transactions amounted to 11.761 billion kroons – by 52% more than this year.

 

24,898 hectares of land were exchanged in the second quarter of this year whereas during the first three months of 2009, this amount was 19,919 hectares.

 

As usual, most real estate transactions – a total of 3,756 – were carried out in the Harju County in the second quarter. The total worth of these transactions formed more than 64% of the total worth of all transactions – 3.388 billion kroons.
