Renovation of Mezaparks Grand Stage to meet deadlines

Today the Riga City Council and LNK, RERE builder signed the agreement on the renovation project.
Riga vice mayor Andris Ameriks said the renovation project will contribute to Riga’s culture life and attract more spectators, and organizers of different events from other countries.
Burovs promised that the met deadline will be met. In order to do that, construction works will take place from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
Asked about the second phase of the project and the necessary additional financing, he said that it is too early to discuss these sums before the procurement for the second phase is concluded.
The first phase of the project will cost EUR 32 mln, including value added tax (VAT), therefore the total sum will definitely be over EUR 60 mln, he said.
As reported, the project is to be implemented until the 2018 National Song and Dance Festival.
The first reconstruction phase is to be completed by June 2018, and the second stage should be completed by 2020.
