Estonians top Russians in Finnish real estate acquisitions in 2015

Print versionEstonians conducted 256 transactions to acquire real estate in Finland in 2015, leaving Russians in second place with 181 transactions, informed LETA/BNS, referring to the Finnish agricultural publication Maaseudun Tulevaisuus.

In places three to five came Swedes, Germans and Britons with respectively 109, 70 and 36 transactions.
Chinese meanwhile have emerged as a new category of buyers, Juhani Vaananen, lead expert at the Finnish land survey authority, said.
Purchases by Estonians have continued since 2009 and the category of property most frequently bought by Estonians is a family home.
The number of properties bought by Russians in Finland has kept declining after hitting 780 in 2008.
