"I think that the transportation tariff concessions offered by our Railways are very significant as for a private company, but the Lithuanian Government definitely cannot provide direct grants, as it is a private foreign company, therefore, it should foremost take on responsibility itself," said the president on Thursday.

Grybauskaite hopes that the company will continue its activities and will not suspend its operations.

"I hope that we will not face such a situation We are aware of the difficulties of the company, but these difficulties are very common to all the petroleum refining companies throughout Europe. During the last five months, even 11 such companies were closed down due to becoming unprofitable and due to rise in oil prices. As a result, as we know, this company, likewise Lithuania, does not have oil reserves, therefore, the situation of this company is not an easy one, yet we still expect that the private Polish company will find possibilities to continue its operations," said the president.

According to her, the Government is ready to help the company as much as possible.
