BENU aptieka drugstore chain increased its turnover and profit last year, according to information provided by Firmas.lv, reports LETA/Nozare.lv.

Benu aptieka Latvija turnover was EUR 48.14 million in 2013, which is 8 percent more than in 2012, when it was EUR 44.94 million.

 

In 2013, the company earned EUR 837,419 in profit, but in 2012, it suffered losses in the amount of EUR 293,612.

 

The fiscal year for Benu aptieka Latvija lasted from February 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

 

The company's management report indicates that in 2013, Benu aptieka Latvija benefited from the economic stabilization and operational improvements.

 

It also indicates that in 2013, several pharmacies underwent large renovations, modernizing the rooms, improving the interior and introducing self-service for customers. The company purchased two additional pharmacies – one in Riga and one in Aluksne.

 

According to Benu aptieka Latvija development plan, the main task is to maintain the clientele and the company's turnover, at the same time optimizing the available product assortment and seeking opportunities for cost reduction in order to stabilize the profit and benefit-cost ratio.
