Kredex: 64% Estonian companies have used a loan to finance activities

A companies' awareness and satisfaction study commissioned by the Estonian state-owned foundation Kredex indicates that 64% of Estonian companies have used a loan to finance their activities while among exporting companies, 72% had used a loan, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Companies said that the services of Kredex, which provides export credits, guarantees and risk capital, correspond to their needs (97%), applying for services is easy (91%) and conditions understandable (93%).

 

"The priority this year is launching a state-owned fund of funds, the aim of which is to improve the financing possibilities of Estonian companies via risk capital market development. The fund of funds to be created should start operating in the second half of the year," said Kredex's business division head Lehar Kütt.

 

Last year, Kredex provided guarantees amounting to 53 mln euros for 484 companies, with the help of which, the companies got from banks additional financing of 101 mln euro.
