"Cesu Dzons" most popular alcoholic beverage in Q1 in Latvia

Alcoholic cocktail "Cesu Dzons" was the most popular alcoholic beverage in Latvia in the first quarter of 2012, whereas "Apinitis stiprais" by "Aldaris" was the most sought-after beer brand, according to the State Revenue Service's data on the sale of excised goods.

According to the Revenue Service's data, "Vanaga stiprais" and "Aldara gaisais" were second and third most popular beer brands, followed by "Garais garaks", "Apinitis", "Garais", "Walter", "Aldara Pilzenes", "Cesu light", "Livu Pilzenes" bear brands, writes LETA/Nozare.lv.

 

Cider "Fizz" was second most popular alcoholic beverage, whereas wine "Kagor" was third, followed by fortified wine "Agdam", brandy "Bonaparte", alcoholic cocktail "Dins", sparkling wine "Rigas sampanietis", vodka "Graudu", sparkling wines "Bosca" and "Alita".

 

In the first three months of 2012, LVL 21.3 million was collected in excise tax on alcoholic beverages, excluding beer, LVL 3.1 million or 17% more than in the same period last year. The excise tax on beer brought in LVL 3.3 million.
